Two of Gillingham's Under 15's from the Centre of Excellence have been selected to attend a get together for this year's England Development Squad. Ashley Miller and Stephen Butcher along with 40 other players will attend the four day training camp next week.

Ashley, who has been with the club since he was eight, is a forward and Stephen (who has been here from 11) is generally either a wide midfield player or full back. They join fellow Under 15 Josh Maugham who last year was selected for the Welsh squad in obtaining such recognition.

Centre of Excellence Manager Bryan Bull was delighted that two more of the clubs players have received such a reward. "For a club outside the Premier League to have two players receive this recognition is exceptional news. There are only a small handful of boys from clubs outside the Premier League who have been invited so we are very proud of Ashley and Stephen receiving this call up."

"It is however another big step for them to get into one of the squads over the coming season that will play in the Victory Shield against Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Stephen is at the moment struggling with an injury picked up during pre-season training and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that he recovers in time to be able to attend. I am sure everyone connected with the club will join me in wishing them both every success next week"
