Gills Ladies marched into the semi final of the Kent Cup with an emphatic 15-1 victory over Ashford this weekend.
On paper this was going to be a miss match and that is how it proved to be on the day as the class of Gills Ladies showed through.
The Goals came from in form strike duo Natalie Crinean and Ashlee Hincks who both netted five times each. There was a brace from the impressive Danni Farmer and a goal apiece for Vicky Ashton-Jones, Laura East and Anelle Massey.
Manager Ian Varley made one change from the team that won last time out by giving Rachel Ahern a chance alongside Becky Lyon in the centre of defence at the expense of Kelly Herrett. While Anelle Massey who has impressed for the reserves in recent weeks stepped up to the substitute's bench.
As early as the fourth minute the Gills were ahead when Natalie Crinean slotted home after good work by strike partner Ashlee Hincks.
Two minutes later and Crinean returned the favour as she played in Hincks from 20 yards and all the in form striker had to do was slot home for 2-0.
A minute later the Gills had appeals for a penalty waved away as Danni Farmer raced into the box and was upended by an Ashford defender.
On 15 minutes Captain Becky Lyon had a great opportunity to grab her second goal of the season. Danni Farmer swung a free kick into the area and Lyon hit a shot on the volley that was well over the bar.
Just before the half hour mark it was 3-0 to the dominant away side, as Deanna Cooper played in Hincks who rounded a couple of defenders before slotting home her second goal of the game.
Two minutes later and it was 4-0 to the Gills as Ash found Vicky Ashton-Jones and in turn she found Laura East who riffled home her second goal in as many games.
The Gills were running riot now and had complete control of the game and the fifth goal killed off any hope Ashford had. Danni Farmer provided a great ball to Natalie Crinean and hit her second goal of the game.
Just before half time it was 6-0 when Deanna Cooper played an amazing ball to Ash Hincks with the outside of her weaker foot and the striker calmly finished the move off to complete her hat trick with half time fast approaching.
Half Time 6-0
The Gills got off to the worst possible start in the second half when Ashford pulled an unlikely goal back thanks to a fluke effort that looped over Katie Duffy.
The game then suffered a thirty minute delay as former gills forward Jac Fiddyment collided with Rachel Ahern falling awkwardly which resulted in an ambulance being called.
Following the eventual restart of the game it didn't take the Gills long to find their scoring boots once again as Natalie Crinean bagged her hat trick and the Gills seventh goal of the game.
Number eight followed not long after as Danni Farmer crafted her own goal which found the back of the net via a deflection, but the ball was always going to find the back of the net.
By this time the front two were having fun and Crinean played in her strike partner Ashlee Hincks who riffled home goal number nine for the Gills and Hincks fourth of the game.
The roles were reversed four minutes later as Hincks returned the favour and Crinean calmly slotted home her fourth goal of the game to make it 10-1.
Goal number eleven followed shortly after and this time it was Crinean who did all the hard work in outmuscling yet another defender before bearing down on goal and calmly finding the back of the net.
The front two were not done there and Crinean again turned provider for Hincks to slot home her fifth goal of the game, and amazingly the Gills twelfth.
With the game coming towards the end the Gills could have been forgiven for taking their foot off the gas but they didn't they kept pressing on in the search for more goals.
With ten of the goals coming from Hincks and Crinean it was nice to see someone else get on the score sheet, when for the 13th goal of the game Hincks played in Vicky Ashton-Jones who got her name on the score sheet.
Danni Farmer bagged her brace soon afterwards as the Gills looked like scoring with every attack, this time Ashton-Jones crossed for the prolific attacking midfielder to fire home goal number 14.
There was a special moment for Anelle Massey, who was called up to the first team squad late in the day just as the clock reached ninety minutes. With the referee about to blow his whistle Massey unleashed a shot from 30 yards that flew past the keeper and into the back of the net.
The Gills saved the best goal of the game until the last possible moment, and Massey will remember for years to come her first goal for the Gills first team.
The Gills are into the semi finals of the Kent Cup and in this sort of form they are going to take some stopping as they look to collect the first piece of silverware on offer this season.
Special mention to Charlotte Abbott who provided the goal updates on a bitter March afternoon in Ashford, whilst missing the game through injury.
